Kira Jane Marie came back to the SSP Studio for her 6-month milestone session, and it was so special getting to see how much she has grown since I photographed her newborn session back in November 2025. Mom Holly reached out about scheduling milestone photos, and I was so excited to work with their family again.
This was such a sweet and relaxed session from start to finish. Kira took a little time warming up at first, but once she got comfortable, her personality completely came out. She was all smiles for the rest of the session and made it so easy to capture so many happy expressions. Her grins were absolutely contagious, and she had the cutest little reactions throughout each setup.
We kept the session simple and timeless with four outfits and three different studio setups during her one-hour milestone session in my Elk Grove home studio. The soft pastel colors worked perfectly for her session and gave each setup its own unique feel while still flowing beautifully together.
Her first setup featured a gorgeous white lace dress with soft pink details and vintage-inspired props that gave everything such a delicate and classic look. For the second setup, we switched to a light blue dress and ribbon headband paired with blue florals and pastel props that fit her happy personality perfectly.
The final setup was done on soft textured blankets with a simple clean background, allowing all the focus to stay on Kira’s expressions and sweet little personality. We started with white lace bloomers and a bonnet before changing things up slightly with a large white headband. To finish the session, Holly brought the cutest deep red velour dress and matching headband, which added a completely different look to the final images while still keeping the session soft and classic.
Kira was such a joy to photograph, and it was so fun seeing how much she has changed since her newborn session. Watching babies grow through their first year is always one of my favorite parts of milestone photography sessions.

There’s something so special about getting to photograph babies more than once during their first year. It feels like just yesterday Kira was here for her newborn session, and now she’s full of smiles, personality, and curiosity. I loved getting to see her again and capture this fun stage for Holly and their family.
