Senior Portraits in Old Elk Grove with Isaiah Le | Elk Grove Senior Photographer

Isaiah Quang-Anh Le’s senior portrait session in Old Elk Grove was such a fun and relaxed evening from start to finish. We spent the session walking around downtown exploring different little spots along the way — from brick walls and staircases to storefronts, iron gates, sidewalks, and quiet side streets filled with warm evening light.

Isaiah was incredibly natural in front of the camera and made the whole session feel easygoing right away. Between listening to Hip Hop while we walked around and casually stopping whenever we found a good location, the entire evening had a really comfortable and laid-back feel.

It was also really special getting to photograph Isaiah because his mom Christina was my daughter Katelynn’s cheer coach years ago at Bradshaw Christian High School back when Isaiah was only in Kindergarten. Christina came along for the session and was so great at helping Isaiah relax, smile, and just enjoy the evening as we walked around Old Elk Grove together. It’s always crazy seeing how quickly the years go by and getting the opportunity to photograph families during such a big milestone season later on..

Isaiah graduates from Pleasant Grove High School in May 2026 and plans to attend Fairfield University in Connecticut, where he’ll study Mechanical Engineering and Finance with hopes of becoming a quantitative analyst in the future.

Exploring Old Elk Grove

Old Elk Grove ended up being the perfect location for Isaiah’s senior session because there was so much variety within walking distance. We spent the evening moving through different parts of downtown stopping at brick walls, staircases, storefronts, iron gates, and little pockets of good light as we explored.

His white button-up shirt and jeans gave the session a really clean and classic look that worked perfectly with all the textures around downtown. Isaiah was comfortable the entire session, which made everything feel relaxed and natural as we moved from spot to spot throughout the evening.

We also incorporated his cap and gown portraits during this part of the session to celebrate his upcoming graduation from Pleasant Grove High School as part of the Class of 2026. I always love adding cap and gown photos into a senior session because it helps tie together both the personality side of the session and the milestone side of graduation.

One of my favorite things about this portion of the session was how many completely different looks we were able to get just by casually walking around Old Elk Grove together.

Bringing Fairfield University Into the Session

Isaiah also brought along a Fairfield University sweatshirt for the second part of the session, which was a great way to include what’s ahead after graduation. The bright red sweatshirt added a completely different feel to this portion of the session and stood out really well against the downtown streets and evening light.

We continued walking around Old Elk Grove using benches, storefronts, sidewalks, railings, and different downtown corners as we went. One of the coolest moments of the evening happened completely by chance. While we were walking around, Isaiah spotted an old black truck parked downtown and mentioned how awesome it would be to take photos with it. My assistant — and husband — Scott went over to ask the owners if we could use it for a few quick photos, and they were incredibly kind and said yes right away. Isaiah thought it was the coolest thing, and it ended up adding such a fun and unexpected element to the session.

Those truck photos ended up fitting this portion of the session perfectly and honestly became some of my favorite images from the evening. I also really liked how personal this part of the session felt between the Fairfield sweatshirt, the downtown locations, and all the little spots we found naturally while walking around together.

Celebrating the Class of 2026

Isaiah’s senior session was such a fun evening walking around Old Elk Grove together finding great light, interesting textures, and different little spots throughout downtown that fit his personality really well.

Between the downtown locations, his cap and gown portraits, the Fairfield University sweatshirt, and the unexpected opportunity to photograph with the vintage truck, the session had a really relaxed and personal feel from beginning to end.

It was also really special getting to reconnect with Christina and photograph Isaiah during such an exciting season of life after knowing their family all those years ago through Bradshaw Christian cheer.

I’m excited for Isaiah as he finishes up his senior year at Pleasant Grove High School and heads off to Fairfield University next year. Wishing him all the best in this next chapter.
