Celebrate your graduation with captivating senior portraits at Shawn Spencer Photography in Elk Grove! Specializing in creating visual stories that preserve memories, I prioritize making the session a real and enjoyable experience. Senior photography is my absolute favorite type of photography and holds a special place in my heart.

It's not just taking photos, it' about creating a heartfelt connection with each senior I work with.  My goal as your dedicated senior photographer, is to capture the genuine joy and excitement of this significant milestone, ensuring your personality shines through in every photograph. The Experience

For over 18 years, I've been perfecting the art of capturing senior portraits, and I'm excited to make your experience extraordinary. Get ready for a worry-free journey where every moment is designed to be not just memorable, but uniquely yours. There is no need to worry about how to pose, what to wear, or which location to choose. I’ve got you every step of the way. Whether you're outgoing or a little camera shy, I'll tailor the session to help you relax, have fun, and let your personality shine through. I promise to make you feel comfortable, confident, and completely yourself in front of the camera. I will pose and guide you for our entire shoot - no modeling experience required!

Even before your session begins, you'll receive access to your exclusive Senior Client Hub, created specifically for your senior portrait experience. Inside you'll find helpful preparation guides, outfit inspiration, styling tips, session advice, and answers to many of the questions you'll have before your portrait session. My goal is to answer your questions before you even have to ask them, so you can relax, feel prepared, and simply enjoy your senior portrait experience.

Pre-Session Prep

I'll touch base with you earlier in the day to firm up any last-minute details. Just show up at the location on time and be prepared to have a blast. I bring a Bluetooth speaker to play your favorite music and make your session a fun, relaxed experience. Together we'll capture genuine moments that reflect your personality and celebrate this exciting milestone.

Session Day

You will be sent 3 to 4 sneak peeks the day after your session. Within 2 weeks you will be sent a link to your beautifully curated gallery of images. All products will be ordered right from the gallery. I am also available to assist in whatever help you need. My hope is that your portraits become more than beautiful photographs—they become lasting reminders of this exciting milestone for years to come.

  • I offer three senior portrait packages starting at $350. Every package includes digital images, with select packages also including a product credit to use toward beautiful prints, albums, wall art, and other keepsakes.

  • Your online gallery also gives you the opportunity to purchase beautiful print products, photobooks, grad announcements, wall art, and keepsakes—giving you beautiful ways to enjoy your senior images long after your session is over.

In every session, I put my personal touch into the editing process! My vibrant, light, bright, and vivid colors style will give you a gallery full of images you will be proud to show off!

FAQs

  • I’m normally booked out a month-two months in advance. This of course is subject to change depending on the time of year. Spring tends to be my busiest time for photographing seniors.

  • If the session needs to be rescheduled due to inclement weather, we will try for the first available session date. I will send you a notification within 12-24 hours of the session date if I see a reason to reschedule. Please note I do automatically reschedule sessions if there is a more than an 80% chance of rain.

  • No worries. I've got your back! We can always reschedule your senior session if you’re feeling under the weather. Please reference our section in our contract where I go over the proper notifications for rescheduling a session due to illnesses.

  • All my senior sessions allow for 3 outfit changes. However, a great way to add outfits is simply wearing layers. When you can add a sweater or jacket or vest to an outfit, you can get a whole new set of images in a different “outfit”. I place no restrictions on your number of props you can bring and have at your session. Just keep in mind that the time you spend changing or setting up is part of your 1½ hour session.

  • Some seniors have specific locations in mind for their session, but I do recommend several location suggestions based on the style of session a senior is looking for.
