A Whimsical Spring Newborn Session | Isabella Grace Mendoza

Welcoming a brand-new little soul into the world is always special—but when I get to photograph a session as full of floral charm and springtime magic as Isabella Grace Mendoza’s, it’s a whole new level of sweet. Born on May 4th, 2025, at 12:25 a.m., Isabella arrived at 7 lbs 9 oz and 21 inches long. Ten tiny fingers, ten tiny toes, and already so much personality!

Her session took place just ten days later at my cozy home studio in Elk Grove, California, where we created a dreamy, butterfly-kissed celebration of her arrival—filled with soft purples, pastel pinks, delicate florals, and even her parents' wedding rings for a sentimental touch.

A Floral Dream Come to Life

From the start, Isabella’s mama, Ashlee, shared her vision for the session—spring-inspired with butterflies and florals. We designed each setup to reflect just that, creating soft, feminine scenes in shades of lavender, blush, and ivory. The textures were plush, the colors were calm, and little Isabella looked like a spring blossom herself.

Wide-Eyed and Wondering

Most newborns doze off quickly during their session, but Isabella had other plans! She stayed wide awake for nearly the entire time. She wasn’t fussy at all—just curious and full of squirmy energy. Her bright eyes took in everything around her, and I was able to capture such alert, expressive portraits that really showed off her sweet little features.

A Sentimental Touch – Wedding Ring Portraits

One of the most heartfelt touches from the session was incorporating Ashlee and Jose’s wedding rings into a few images. Their rings were gently placed on Isabella’s tiny toes—a symbolic and tender reminder of the love and promises that led to this moment. She looked absolutely peaceful snuggled in soft ivory wraps surrounded by blooms, wearing mom’s and dad’s love right on her toes.

Finally Asleep – A Lavender Finish

After a full session of exploring the world with her eyes wide open, Isabella finally gave in and drifted off to sleep for the last 30 minutes. We used that time to create some peaceful, sleepy poses dressed in delicate lavender and surrounded by soft petals. Her little hands relaxed, her breathing slowed, and we finished the session with a set of dreamy images that perfectly balanced the energy of her earlier awake moments.

A Sweet Start to Spring for the Mendoza Family

I’ve had the joy of capturing so many newborn sessions, but this one was such a special mix of sentimental moments, beautiful design, and expressive connection. Watching Isabella’s curious spirit and finally seeing her drift off in peace—it was the perfect way to celebrate this brand-new chapter for Ashlee and Jose.

Isabella Grace, you’re already so loved and adored. What a beautiful beginning to your story.
