Welcome to the World, Damian | Newborn Photography in Elk Grove, CA
There’s something so tender about those first days with a newborn—the little yawns, curled toes, and peaceful snuggles. Damian Abhijit Singh made his debut on July 23, 2025, at 1:00 a.m., weighing 7 pounds, 1 ounce and measuring 19 inches. I had the pleasure of photographing him in my cozy home studio in Elk Grove, CA, and his newborn session was full of thoughtful details, soft textures, and sweet family touches.
Damian’s mom, Giovanna, requested shades of blue and brown for his session—a timeless and calming combo—and we even incorporated a fun setup to honor dad’s job in IT. This little guy was a champ through every pose, and I’m so excited to share these highlights with you.
Wrapped in Blue | Soft Textures & Serene Tones
We started Damian’s session with a beautiful blue-on-blue setup. These tones work so well for baby boys and create a clean, serene look that keeps all the focus on baby’s features. Damian was wrapped in a navy swaddle with his tiny face peeking out, peacefully dreaming on a fluffy blue backdrop. These images really capture that "sleepy newborn" magic.
Cozy Basket Details | Soft Blues & Sleepy Neutrals
Next, we moved Damian into a set of cozy, textured setups. In the first, he stayed wrapped in a soft waffle-knit blue swaddle and matching sleepy cap, snuggled up in a dark basket and paired with the tiniest stuffed bunny. These sweet accessories add charm without distracting from baby’s peaceful expressions. The layered navy fluff underneath brought depth and tied in beautifully with mom’s request for rich blues.
For the second look, we dressed Damian in a snug, oatmeal-colored knit romper with a matching cap—complete with button details—and laid him on a handmade mini bed. The neutral tones, warm woven textures, and soft brown wool layers underneath gave the scene an earthy, timeless feel. He looked like he was resting in the coziest little nook. We paired this off with the cutest little teddy bear that Damian was cradling on the bed.
These two looks gave us a wonderful variety of textures and colors while keeping everything soft, natural, and baby-focused.
Little Bear Dreams | Whimsy with a Personal Touch
This next setup gave us a playful and personal combo! Damian looked absolutely darling in a soft brown bear romper and bonnet, curled up in a bed of wool textures. To make the session even more meaningful, we styled a tech-inspired setup to honor dad’s career in IT. From the tiny faux laptop to the miniature desk and headphones, it was the perfect modern twist on a classic newborn portrait.
These two setups worked beautifully together to show Damian’s story—a mix of cuddly charm and a nod to family life. Personal touches like this are always welcome in my studio and help make each session unique.
The Sweetest Details | Blue Wraps, Tiny Toes & Soft Expressions
We wrapped up the session with a timeless pose—Damian in a soft blue wrap, showing off his tiny hands and feet. These images highlight those fleeting newborn features: curled toes, soft skin, and peaceful little expressions. One of my favorites from this series is the one where he's lightly smiling in his sleep. It’s those little details that parents remember forever.
