Welcome Baby Odette Daisy – A Sweet Newborn Session in Elk Grove
It was such a joy welcoming Odette Daisy Schroeder to my Elk Grove home studio for her newborn session. Born on July 31, 2025 at 1:41 PM, Odette weighed 5 lbs 14 oz and measured 18.5 inches long—tiny and perfect in every way. Mom, Megan, shared her vision of soft pinks, purples, and sage tones for Odette’s portraits, and we blended those colors into each setup for a cohesive, dreamy gallery. Her big sister Charlize (aka Charlie), just 19 months old, joined us for some adorable sibling and family photos that truly melt your heart. Here’s a peek at Odette’s newborn session—filled with cozy textures, floral touches, and a whole lot of love.
Lavender Dreams and Cozy Wraps
Odette started her session wrapped in soft lavender tones, resting on a fluffy violet fur layer that perfectly complemented her peaceful expressions. We began with a knitted lilac bonnet, then transitioned to a delicate floral headband to switch up the look without disrupting her sleepy flow. These classic, snug poses capture all the sweetness of those early newborn days.
Purple Petals and Ruffle Rompers
Next up was a beautifully detailed floral setup featuring soft purples and grape-toned florals. Odette wore an adorable ruffle bonnet and knit romper in muted lavender tones, posed in a bowl surrounded by faux roses and soft leafy textures. Her tiny toes peeked out, adding such a natural, candid charm. We included a mini bear for an extra sweet touch.
Sunshine and Bees – A Personalized Basket
This setup was all about celebrating Odette’s name—Odette Daisy—with cheerful yellow tones, sunflowers, and a bee-themed personalized basket. From her sunflower headband to the embroidered “Odette” pillow, every detail made this setup feel joyful and warm. Our swing setup featured soft sage tones and creamy white florals. Odette wore a cozy knit outfit with wooden buttons and a pointed hood, creating a whimsical forest-inspired look. We transitioned to a delicate headband for a more feminine variation of the same scene. The gentle sway of the rope swing added dimension to her gallery while keeping her safe and snug.
Blush Lace and Tulle – A Classic Pose
This soft pink setup was such a classic—lace, tulle, and dreamy blush tones. Odette wore a lace long-sleeve outfit with a fluffy tulle skirt and headband bow, lying gently on her side for a series of detailed close-ups. Her tiny fingers and perfect pouty lips were the stars of this segment.
Hello World! – A Soft Sage Wrap
Next, we wrapped Odette in a soft sage knit wrap and added a “Hello World” wooden plaque to celebrate her arrival. With her toes and fingers peeking out and a flower headband to match, these shots had a simple, pure feel. Sometimes the most minimalist setups let baby shine the brightest.
Family Snuggles and Sister Love
We wrapped up the session with timeless family portraits. Megan looked radiant holding her girls, and big sister Charlie gave us some sweet, curious looks and gentle touches. Kellen held both girls with such pride, and together, the family radiated warmth and connection. These lifestyle portraits are such a beautiful way to celebrate this milestone together.
