Welcoming little ones into the world is always an honor, and baby Jason’s newborn session was extra sweet. Born on June 27, 2025 at 5:57 a.m., weighing 6 lb, 11 oz and stretching 20 inches long, Jason was the perfect little model during his visit to my Elk Grove home studio.
His mama, Arielle, envisioned a nature-inspired session—something soft and peaceful that brought in elements of the sky and the woods. We created exactly that, with cozy setups in dreamy blues and grays, a playful forest scene, and a magical moon-and-stars setup that fit their vision beautifully. Let’s take a walk through this memorable newborn session!
Wrapped and Snuggled in Blue
Jason started his session wrapped in soft, rich blue tones that brought out his peaceful little expressions. He slept so soundly through each setup, allowing us to pose him sweetly on fluffy textures and delicate knits. This part of the session was all about simplicity—letting baby be the focus while still surrounding him with softness and warmth.
Classic Gray Knit Outfit Poses
Next, we dressed Jason in a cozy gray knit outfit complete with matching bonnet and wooden buttons. He snuggled right up with a tiny stuffed bunny and gave us the best sleepy poses. We also captured his adorable yawn and included a sweet birth announcement disc with all his details. These timeless gray tones worked beautifully to highlight his delicate features.
Starry Sky and Moonlight Dreams
Before we transitioned into our starry sky setup, we captured some of my favorite images of the session—Jason wrapped loosely in a soft gray wrap with his tiny hands and feet peeking out. These shots felt so gentle and raw, especially when his daddy placed his hands lovingly around Jason in a protective hold. It was a beautiful, emotional moment that added a layer of connection and tenderness to the gallery.
From there, we moved into a whimsical moon-and-stars setup. Jason wore a soft blue ribbed romper and curled right into a plush crescent moon surrounded by felted stars, clouds, and a soft night sky. It was everything mom had envisioned—dreamy, peaceful, and filled with imagination. A sweet little stuffed bear completed the look, adding the perfect finishing touch.
Forest Friends and Woodland Vibes
We finished off the session with the sweetest woodland scene. Jason was dressed in a soft brown bear outfit, curled up in a tree trunk prop with lush green leaves around him. His parents brought along a special Winnie the Pooh and Piglet plush, which we nestled beside him for a personal touch. This setup was inspired by mom’s love for nature and made for such a heartwarming finale to his portraits.
A Thoughtful, Custom Experience
Every detail of Jason’s newborn session was carefully crafted with his family in mind. From cozy knits to whimsical skies to forest-inspired storytelling, we were able to incorporate everything mom had hoped for. It was such a joy to create a calm, meaningful session that reflects the love surrounding this little one.
